Privacy policy
Effective October 4, 2026. It applies to the Encarté Android app.
No data collected
Encarté collects, sends and sells no data. The app does not request internet access, so it has no technical means of sending anything.
Camera
The camera is used only to read a card's barcode and, if you want, to photograph its front and back. Images are processed on your phone and never leave it.
Your cards stay on your phone
Cards, their numbers and their photos are stored in the app's private storage. They are excluded from Google's cloud backup. During a direct transfer from an old phone to a new one, Android may copy them from one device to the other. Uninstalling the app deletes them.
Backups
A backup is a file you create yourself and save wherever you choose. If you set a password, it is encrypted (AES-256).
App lock
The optional app lock uses your device's fingerprint, face or screen lock, through Android. Encarté receives no biometric data.
No ads, no analytics, no trackers
Encarté includes no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
